The National Prize for Sociology and Political Science is the main award granted in this field, also taking the form of a National Prize. It has been awarded for more than 20 years and has great prestige among the academic and professional community, representing recognition of a scientific career developed in the field of Sociology and Political Science. Since 2018, its call has once again been annual.
It is regulated by Order PRA/18/2018, of January 17 , which approves the regulatory bases for the granting by the Sociological Research Center of the National Prize for Sociology and Political Science.

- Candidacies
- All those institutions, chairs, organizations, departments or foundations of a public or private nature especially linked to Sociology or Political Science, as well as the members of the designated Jury, may propose candidatures for the Award.
- Application submission form
- Through the Electronic Headquarters of the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Cortes and Democratic Memory.
- Recipients
- The Prize will be awarded in recognition of the contribution and scientific work in the field of Sociology or Political Science, revealed through the professional career of the candidates or in recognition of a singular work.
- Endowment
- 25,000.00 euros.

- Resolution of July 19, 2023 , of the Center for Sociological Research, by which the granting of the "National Prize for Sociology and Political Science" for the year 2023 is made public.
