The Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológics (REIS) is a quarterly publication of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS), being a fundamental part of its editorial activity. It began to be published in 1978, and its objective is to promote the dissemination of academic studies that contribute to a better knowledge of Spanish society. Due to its historical trajectory and the high level of quality required of contributions, it has become a reference journal for any scholar or researcher in the Social Sciences.
The magazine covers a wide range of topics in the field of Sociology and Political Science in general, of which we can highlight: Demography, Anthropology, Political Institutions, Public Opinion, Structure and Social Change, Political Theory, Sociological Theory, Psychology Social, Methodology.
Each issue is structured into the following sections: Articles, Research Notes, Bibliographic essays and book reviews.
According to the main national rankings of Spanish journals of Sociology and Political Science, the REIS magazine occupies first place in the Fecyt ranking and in Dialnet the Integrated Classification of Scientific Journals (CIRC) appears where it is classified as group A (scientific journals). higher level), also placing itself in the first quartile (Q1) based on Dialnet metrics data.
According to the prestigious Journal Citation Reports (JCR Social Sciences Edition 2021, published in 2022) the Spanish Journal of Sociological Research (REIS) has an impact index of 1.438 (Q3), and the forecast for this index for five years could be 1.531 . In the international JCR ranking for Social Sciences, the journal is in position 100 out of a total of 148 journals.
For its part, in the Scopus database—promoted by Elsevier—the REIS occupies a Q2 (0.380) and position 50 of the 349 Spanish journals registered in Social Sciences, and position 7 of 43 of the Spanish journals registered in Sociology. and Political Science included in the Scimago Journal Rank , and position 479 of the 1,329 indexed Sociology and Political Science journals worldwide.
